Love Letters

Hi there,

This is my first post. Oh my God! I have mixed feelings about it. I am excited, but also nervous. Well, alright here we go.

I mentioned that my husband passed away in March of this year (2015). This past year has been so tough. I had no idea how my life would turn out. I praise God for His goodness and blessings that He poured out to me during these past months. People from church, neighbors, friends from all over the world reached out to me and helped. God is good. He is real that is all I can say.

I moved to Michigan to live with my in-laws from Alabama. I thank God for them also.

I have a very special friend, she lives in Delaware. I was a part of a moms club back in Delaware. What a group of sweet ladies! She nominated me on More Love Letters (www.moreloveletters.com please check it out!) She told me the night before my birthday. I was really surprised. On top of that, she told me Kleenex would love to capture the moment of me opening the package of love letters. I did not know what to say. I was so shocked, yet I was excited. Long story short, I received the love letters package. I was so anxious to open it, but I had to wait. Finally, the day of which we had agreed to film arrived. It was such a blast. Melodi and I had a great time. I personally thank you so much to Kleenex and More Love letters for the opportunity. I will attach the link to the video if you guys want to check it out.

These letters mean a lot to me. I will not dare throw away even a piece of envelope. Why? You ask? Well, losing someone you love changes you. You don’t know what normal is anymore. I had to make major decisions within a short period of time. I truly was miserable. So when I received the letters and read them one by one, I felt so touched by the sweet, encouraging words. I still go through and read them every day. Each one of them encourages me to keep going. A lot of time I ask God, “What is the point?” But then I thought, “Are you crazy, Merysta? God does not make mistakes. He won’t let a single drop of tears goes to waste.” From reading these letters, I believe that there are people out there who care for me. It doesn’t matter whether they are family, friends or even strangers, but they care. That is all it takes to make this world a better place. Being away from my family, I learn that family doesn’t always have to be blood. Sometimes, even blood family doesn’t always care enough to check up let alone take their time to write a love letter. In this modern world where everything is electronic, it is nice to receive a handwritten letter. It feels good to know that the person who writes the letter takes their time to sit down and pours out her/his thought and feeling into it.

Lastly, I truly appreciate all the love and supports. I pray that God will multiply our blessings, so that we can share with others who are in need.

Keep sharing ❤

Merysta
